Optimisation
The first thing you need to ensure you
have at the very minimum is a search engine friendly web site. If your
page content can not be read by search engine robots you will have less
chance of a good position on the search engines.
Once you have a search engine friendly site you need to ensure your
site is user friendly. This is the second step - if your site is hard
to use and the information is not clear your users will in most cases
go to another web site. In order to make your site user friendly you
need the correct navigation structure and the content needs to be clear
and easy to understand.
The third step is to correctly work out your keywords and phrases, how
will people actually find your site, does your content fit in with what
people are looking for?
Once this has been done and your site is search engine friendly you
will need to promote your site, this could be via correct submission
to search engines, maybe you need to place your site on portals or directories?
It all forms the basis of search engine optimisation and Internet Marketing.
Web ranking is becoming even more important to web site owners not just
in the UK but also from all around the world. In order to achieve good
web ranking on search engines, web site owners need to have a site built
with your visitor in mind ensuring your site is visible to search engines.
With the right mixture of these variants and of course a great site
it is only a matter of time before the search engine robots pick up
your site.
